Council of Graduate Schools (CGS) - National Name Exchange (NNE): The National Name Exchange was established to help match graduate schools with minority students interested in graduate education.

The National Name Exchange seeks to:

  • Increase the number of qualified minority students accepted into graduate school;
  • Improve student access to information on graduate school opportunities.
  • Work towards personalizing the recruitment effort by designating a National Name Exchange institutional representative to facilitate information exchange between the institution and prospective students.
  • Assist graduate schools in identifying qualified minority candidates for consideration for graduate study.

McNair Scholars (information provided by the Council for Opportunity in Education):

Annually, the Council of Graduate Schools (CGS) and the Council for Opportunity in Education (COE) collaborate to produce the national McNair Scholars Directory. The directory includes Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program scholars projected to graduate this year or next year. It serves as a valuable recruitment tool by allowing Graduate School deans and fellowship program directors to directly contact a cohort of highly talented and motivated students.

California Diversity Forum for Diversity in Education: Planned by a consortium of public and private colleges and universities from throughout California, these forums have been designed particularly to meet the needs of advanced undergraduates and master’s candidates who belong to groups that are currently underrepresented in doctoral-level programs.
